10th Annual I-Drive 5K Run to Benefit YMCA Aquatic Center

The 10th Annual I-Drive 5K Run will take place on Saturday, May 12, 2012, to benefit the YMCA Aquatic Center Learn to Swim Scholarship program. The I-Drive community gets involved in this 3.1 mile run through the heart of I-Drive every year by rallying their employees together to participate in this worthy event.

The run begins at 7:30 a.m. at Pointe Orlando. A free Kids Dash starts at 8:45 a.m. Free parking is available in the Pointe Orlando garage.

Prizes include tickets to I-Drive attractions, dining, shopping, movie tickets and much more.

In 2011, the family event raised more than $13,250 and drew over 1,300 runners and hundreds of spectators along the route.

Each year the Central Florida YMCA teaches aquatics and swim safety to more than 17,000 children locally, at twenty-seven pools in a six county area. Through this fund, children, families, and seniors receive YMCA scholarships so that they can participate in these health and character-based programs during periods of financial challenge. The goal for 2012 is to raise $15,000 for the program.
